Dr. Benjamin Whitaker

Dr Whitaker grew up in San Clemente, California, where he developed a love for the ocean and a deep appreciation for being active and involved with people. He participated in Boy Scouts, explored nature, and frequented all the local sporting fields and courts.

At the age of 9, he moved with his family to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where his family participated in medical missionary work. There, Dr Whitaker developed a passion for people, culture, and food. In 2013, he moved back to the US, and Fayetteville, NC, became home. In high school, he ran track and cross country, competing at the regional and state levels, and spent much of his spare time shadowing and learning about dentistry.

Dr Whitaker attended UNC-Chapel Hill and received a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with minors in Biology and Chemistry. As a NASM certified Personal Trainer, he worked at UNC’s Campus Recreation.

Dr Whitaker then attended the ECU School of Dental Medicine, where he developed his skills and desire to serve. While there, he was active in multiple student organizations, including ASDA, where he held an elected position as his class representative. Following dental school, Dr Whitaker was drawn back to the ocean and settled in Surf City, NC, where he enjoys running, staying active, cooking, and being involved in church.

Dr Whitaker is a member of the American Dental Association as well as the North Carolina Dental Association. He approaches his practice as family, and believes in the importance of educating his patients so they can be active participants in their oral health. He loves people, conversing, and sharing laughs.
